Sue Whyte Geography teacher

Sue Whyte has trialled Understanding the Environment with her GCSE Geography students using worksheets which she developed for the trial.

Sue's initial trial involved the use of module 2 "Exploring Environmental Problems" it consisted of two 1 ½ hours sessions with 30 students using the schools ICT Resource Centre.

The students (28 out of 30) gave their feedback by completing questionnaires. Sue Whyte gave the following feedback:

"We made Understanding the Environment available to students in the ICT Resource Centre and the library. I use the system with my students in the ICT Resource Centre and also encouraged my students to use the system in the library as an addition research tool when researching topics for course work.

The system was introduced to the students by giving a verbal introduction and most students very quickly got into using the system and there didn't seem to be any problems in using the system.

As can be seen from the students' feedback most students enjoyed using Understanding the Environment and expressed that they would like to use the system again.

Following the initial trials I have developed further worksheets click here to access Sue's worksheets which I will be using for class based learning and I will also be setting homework for the students to research independently."
